Welcome

Welcome to the Rotary Leadership Institute NEA (Home Division) Blog!

There is a need to collect and quantify what impact RLI has had on Rotary leadership.
The impact on me personally has been exceptional. I have seen how the Saturday seminars can re-ignite the spark that reminds us of the reason we joined Rotary in the first place. We are looking for RLI "best practices" and ideas that will enhance RLI. Example:
How many District Governors in a Rotary district or zone are graduates of RLI?
Please read and become involved in this blog.

I can recommend the book Frank Talk on Leadership by Frank Devlyn, RI President 2000-2001 and David Forward, best selling author. Just one quote from the book: "Leadership is not a skill reserved for those with impressive titles. Each of us has been endowed with the potential to lead." I valued the strait-forward approach to categorizing the traits of leaders.

January 7, 2010 Michelle and I flew from Syracuse to Orlando, FL for the Rotary Leadership Institute Curriculum meeting. Dave Linett, PRID and founder of RLI was present to discuss the success of RLI across the world. Tim Schuler, PDG was Chair of the weekend meeting. Gary Israel, PDG and "Green Jacket" was also present. We had a good talk about the possibility of investing in a home in Florida. Gary and his wife live in Estero, Fla.
Last weekend I attended the Rotary Leadership Institute Home Division mid-year meeting at Fishkill, NY. There was an increase in attendees to the fall sessions. The total attending was 833. I got a much better idea of how RLI works having attended the mid-year event.
I plan on going to Montreal for the international meeting of RLI on June 24, 2010.
